Kharkiv Korolenko State Scientific Library at the epicenter of the war
Abstract
The state of one of the oldest and largest book collections in Ukraine and Europe, the Kharkiv Korolenko State Scientific Library, was described, after damages due to military aggression of the Russian Federation. The state of the library complex and measures taken to secure buildings and collections were reviewed. The importance of assistance from the authorities of Ukraine, public organizations, the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland and the Polish Center for Assistance to Culture in Ukraine was emphasized. The areas of remote activity of specialists in war conditions were characterized: archiving documents about the war, work on digital assets, international cooperation, scientific information and educational activities, grant projects.
