IFLA-Library Reference Model and its Impact on the Future Shape of RDA
Abstract
The ‘RDA Toolkit Restructure and Redesign Project’ has been launched at the end of 1016. Its aim is to modernize RDA Toolkit Service and integration with new model IFLA-LRM. The changes in RDA are not new and they are carried out within periodic updates of this standard. However, this time the scope of changes proves to be considerable. That is why it is essential to get familiar with these arrangements. The article concentrates on works conducted by RDA Steering Committee to restructure RDA in order to adjust it to IFLA-LRM model. There is a place to present such issues as plans of structural transformations of RDA, detailed solutions of implementation of new elements which were absent in FRBR and FRAD models.References
