Using works protected by copyright or related rights by libraries and other subjects conducting cultural activities

Abstract

Libraries fulfill the social mission imposed on them by the Act on Libraries. Within the scope of this mission, libraries organize film screenings, for which collective management organizations expect financial benefits. In the article the author explains the rules of paying compensation by subjects conducting cultural activity and educational institutions, and clarifies the legal framework of the Umbrella License.
