The activities of community archives: the case of Archiwum Akt Nowych

Abstract

The article discusses the history of Archiwym Akt Nowych paying attention to its roots that reach down to the beginnings of the 20th century, and the constant striving to document social life in all the stages of the contemporary Poland. The author describes in detail the archive resources and projects that involve AAN in developing community archiving in Poland and abroad.
