The library cloud
Abstract
The article aims to outline the action plan for a “library cloud”, that is, a universal web and library service allowing for instant access to digital resources (if available) or physical library materials in the nearest possible location. The implementation of such a service requires a mix of geolocation and intelligent search engine with user interface. This type of functionality is already available in one library network (perhaps even more), but now it certainly is unreachable in a hybrid environment in use in a wide variety of library systems. What requirements must be fulfilled to make such a service available? Do library users expect such functionality? - open questions and proposed answers.
