Abstract

The public library in Piekary Śląskie, from May 2014 to June 2015, implemented an innovative project called “Programming of curiosity”, the winner in the international competition EFL-PLIP. The overall goal of the project was to develop imagination and creativity of young people in the IT area. Among the accomplishments were: 10 mobile applications Duke Cloud based on competition that provide knowledge and teach the mechanics of computer games. We ran a workshop on robotics and taught rendering in Blender and 3D printing. The project was presented publicly on several occasions, including the 5th Congress of public libraries in Warsaw and during the EIFL General Assembly in Istanbul. Sustainability of the project is guaranteed by the ongoing activities in the ITLab, created in the course of the implementation of the project. At present it brings together those who have transformed the technological barrier in fascination. ITLab is supported by the Information Society Development Foundation as Innovation Zone.
