The SOWA library system

Abstract

The article covers issues concerning the functionality of the SOWA2/MARC21 andSOWA2SQL library systems and shows the various system implementations in libraries. The article indicates the hosting service offered by Sokrates-software, the software vendor, as well as the various support services it provides for libraries. The article discusses the system innovation issues and the Polish nationwide internet portal w.bibliotece.pl. The article also describes up-to-date search tools available in the OPAC catalogues of the SOWA2SQL system.
