WorldCat as a result of more than 45 years of library cooperation
Abstract
The article presents the largest international central catalogue – WorldCat. The catalogue was established in 1971 within OCLC. It is being constantly improved through the cooperation of libraries and other institutions from all around the world. The bibliographic records of Polish publications are supplied by the Polish National Library and the NUKAT. The Library of Wrocław University of Science and Technology is an OCLC member and has been co-creating the central catalogue since 2007. The article discusses the cooperation in detail and indicates the resulting benefits.References
